Snowpocalypse!

Okay, it wasn't that dramatic here. Just a couple inches of snow and some fun with the kids. We so rarely get snow that I didn't even have snow gear for my (almost) 3 year old and the baby had to make do with rain boots that were a size too big. Maybe next year I'll break down and buy both girls some snow gear for our one-time-a-season snow event.
Winsley really enjoyed the snow for the first little bit. She kept taking off her mittens to touch the snow and try to eat it - that's my girl! Did anybody else ski down the mountain as a child, scooping up snow to eat on the way down? No? Just me, huh? Well, this is awkward…

No more awkward than this next picture though.
Sure, it's all fun and games until Daddy throws a snowball in your face. And then Mom stops to take a picture of your agony instead of rushing to comfort you.

Don't judge! You probably would have done the same thing (at least, that's what I'm telling myself). She was fine. The only way we got her to calm down was to let her throw a snowball at Daddy's face. Gotta be fair.

The snow has pretty much melted by now, but it was fun while it lasted.

  1. I love Zulily - for some reason it never even crossed my mind to look online for snow gear. I was probably the one parent rushing to the store on Monday in search of a snowsuit only to find them sold out or not in stock in the first place.

  2. OMG, I died when I saw that post-snowball photo on Instagram! That face sums up all my feelings about winter :) I can't believe how crazy this winter has been so far--and it's only been a month!

  3. Cute pictures! My husband and I are originally from NJ but we moved to Hawaii 5 years ago. So we occasionally miss snow. We are visiting this winter so our kiddies will get a chance at playing in snow. So glad i stumbled unto your blog. I loved your post on the 15%. I share the same sentiment. My husband and I are Korean but I hope our kids find love and the right right match terms of chemistry, spirituality, and personality. I have a blog as well. Please check it out!

  5. Your girls are so cute! It looks like you guys had a lot of fun int he snow. And yes, it's only natural that you would stop to take a picture after the snowball. I would have done that too. And I was a snow eater when I was younger, although I wasn't skiing down hills, just through the woods behind my house. And now I have to sit outside and wait for my puppy to grab a few bites when I take her out. :)
