Operation Get Fit 2014

It's that time of year again. The time when everyone decides that all of the gluttony during the holidays was not such a great idea. Everyone's dieting. Everyone's joining a gym or starting a new workout video.
Operation Get Fit
Fine. I'll jump on that wagon.

If I absolutely must, I might as well drag y'all along for the ride. Yes, I'm protesting my journey back to the healthy side of eating. You see, I love how I feel when I'm eating healthy and getting active. BUT I also love everything about the comfort of really unhealthy sweets in the moment. Instant gratification is my downfall.

The transitioning is the difficult part for me, but I'm going all in. I'm even joining Sarah every other week here in blogland to help keep myself on track (love her blog, btw. You should go read it now!). Here's to strawberry-kale smoothies and avoiding temptations!

Anybody have suggestions or plans to follow? I'd love to hear how you are planning to transition into healthier habits this year.

  3. I've been wondering about those. Heard great things, but that price tag makes me a little nervous.

  4. I'm telling you, the hardest hands down is week one, it really gets so much easier from there!! Have you looked at weight watchers yet? Really easy and you can eat anything, in moderation of course! I love comfort foods too, and I still get to eat em, just not as many of them :) you got this girlfriend!! Can't wait to see your progress!

  5. Agreed! I cannot wait to get over this first week.

I have done WW unofficially (stole my mom's WW info) in the past and it always worked. I'm definitely considering it, as I've heard of too many success stories amongst friends not to look into WW for myself.

  7. this is always a tough one. i think i need to be more realistic for myself and know that i can't go hardcore with diets. i will just have to cut down little by little. i just started by eating only half my intake of carbs than before.. and i think that has been helping. i don't see a point in cutting it all out especially if it gives me that much happiness. :)

  8. Don't try and birth that elephant too soon!

I gained 46.6 pounds with Ellington, so I totally get it. After almost 3 years, I back below my pre-baby weight. Yay! Unfortunately, my body didn't get the memo that it was supposed to go back to the way it was too. Yikes.

  9. I always go hardcore and it has worked out really well for me… it's when I have met my goal that things get difficult. I start eating whatever whenever again and the weight creeps back.

I do love my sweets and bread though. I lose all self control when I'm alone with cake and ice cream #sugaraddict

  11. That's really what I need to work on. Balance. Totally agree that you should eat what brings you happiness. :) We just need to find out how to break even (not go overboard)

  12. I think it's a one day at a time project for me, staying fit and healthy, I prefer to exercise a lot and have more freedom with what I eat. Dieting has never really worked for me but exercise has. I've joined in with Sarah's Operation get fit too :)

  13. Exercise is what I'm really struggling with right now. I'd love to do a routine or program, but 2 little ones don't always allow me the time. You're right, one day at a time is the way to do it.
